Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how dj.lift (the "App") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the App. By downloading or using dj.lift, you agree to the practices described here.

dj.lift is built and operated by the developer identified in your App Store purchase receipt (the "Developer" or "we"). If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at support@djlift.app.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to run your workouts and sync your music:

  • Account information. Your name and email address, used to create and identify your dj.lift account (provided through Apple Sign In or the platform's hosted sign-in).
  • Music service connections. When you connect Spotify or Apple Music, we receive access tokens so the App can read your playlists, search for tracks, and control playback on your behalf. These tokens are linked to your account and used only to perform actions you request.
  • Your content. The workouts, playlists, songs, and beat-drop timestamps you create or import. Each song may store its Spotify or Apple Music identifier so the App can play the correct track.
  • App preferences. Your selected player theme, voice-countdown toggle, tempo-matching toggle, and preferred music service.
  • Onboarding status. A simple flag noting whether you've completed the first-run onboarding flow.
  • Usage & technical data. Standard, anonymous diagnostic and analytics information such as feature usage events and device/locale data, collected by our backend platform to keep the App running and to fix issues.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and maintain your account and authenticate you on each launch.
  • To fetch and play your Spotify and Apple Music playlists during workouts.
  • To store your workouts, playlists, and beat-drop settings and show them back to you.
  • To sync music playback to your workout and set intervals as you configure them.
  • To remember your theme and preference choices across sessions.
  • To analyze aggregated, anonymized usage to improve and stabilize the App.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your personal information to build profiles for third-party advertising.

3. With Whom We Share Your Data

We share information only as needed to provide the App's features:

  • Spotify. When you connect, your Spotify tokens are sent to Spotify's APIs to search, import, and play music, governed by Spotify's own terms and privacy policy.
  • Apple Music. When you connect, Apple Music's MusicKit handles authorization and playback under Apple's terms and privacy policy.
  • Payment provider. Any in-app purchases or subscriptions are processed by the App Store / Apple or our payment provider (Stripe). We do not receive or store your full card details.
  • Hosting & backend. The App's database, authentication, and infrastructure are provided by our backend platform (Base44), which stores your account and content on our behalf under its security practices.

We may disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights or safety, but only to the extent necessary.

4. Data Linked to You vs. Not Linked

The account, music, content, and preference data described above is linked to your account identity. Usage analytics is processed in aggregate form and is not linked to your account for cross-app tracking purposes.

5. Your Rights & Choices

  • Manage connections: Disconnect Spotify or Apple Music at any time from Settings — we remove the stored tokens.
  • Edit your data: Workouts, playlists, and songs can be edited or deleted directly within the App.
  • Delete your account: Use "Delete Account" in Settings to initiate permanent erasure of your account and content. To complete full removal of your underlying account record after sign-out, contact support.
  • Email preferences: You can manage system emails through the links provided in any message we send.

6. Data Retention

We keep your account and content for as long as you use the App. When you delete data or your account, we remove it from active systems. Log and backup copies may be retained for a limited period as required for security and integrity, then deleted. Authentication tokens for Spotify and Apple Music are removed promptly when you disconnect.

7. Security

Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with our backend provider, which applies access controls and monitoring. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

8. Children's Privacy

dj.lift is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it. The App does not rely on any behavioral advertising or third-party SDKs that engage in behavioral tracking of children.

9. Third-Party Services

Spotify, Apple Music, and our payment and hosting providers operate under their own privacy policies, which govern how they handle data once you use their services. We encourage you to review those policies when connecting.

10. International Users

The App and its backend may process and store your data in the United States or other regions where our providers operate. By using the App, you consent to such transfers in accordance with this policy.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above, and, where appropriate, notifying you within the App. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.

12. Contact Us
